TU Dublin's Professor Yvonne Galligan Awarded Prestigious Politics Prize

Professor Yvonne Galligan has been awarded the Sir Isaiah Berlin Prize from the Political Studies Association (PSA) for her outstanding professional contribution to Political Studies.

The Sir Isaiah Berlin Prize has previously been awarded to other eminent political scholars from universities worldwide. Professor Yvonne Galligan, who is the Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Professor of Comparative Politics at TU Dublin, was the founding director of the Centre for Advancement of Women in Politics at Queen’s University Belfast and is now the founding director of the AIB Research Centre on Inclusive and Equitable Cultures RINCE. She is a past Vice President of the International Political Science Association and past President of the Political Studies Association of Ireland.

Professor Galligan was awarded the prize for her outstanding professional contributions to political studies, service to professional associations, and advancing public knowledge of politics and political literacy.

Professor Galligan commented on receiving the prize: 'It is a great honour and a wonderful surprise to be given this award. Sir Isaiah Berlin was a passionate advocate of liberty and the dignity of human beings. I would like to think that my professional life also exemplifies these values. I thank the Political Studies Association for choosing me as the 2024 recipient of this prestigious prize.'
