About

The School of Management, People and Organisations at TU Dublin has been established in 2022 as a collegiate community which fosters inspiring, impactful, innovative and critically independent thinkers who rise to current and future diverse challenges and opportunities in its four disciplines. This builds on a legacy of decades of academic expertise and industry engagement in Ireland and internationally.

It has a portfolio of programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate and executive education levels across its four disciplines of Management, HRM Strategy & Leadership, and Organisation Studies, all with a focus on career-oriented teaching and research that underpins advancement of management practice. We have programmes that suit those looking to study business for the first time along with those seeking to specialize. All are designed to ensure a balance between academic excellence and real world relevance, while building the crucial soft skills required for career success. This represents our holistic education approach where we encourage and support students to join societies and networks to broaden their university life experiences which in turn broaden their own abilities for future management roles.

Incorporating strong existing links to employer organisations (e.g. Irish Business and Employers Confederation) and to relevant professional bodies (e.g. Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development), MPO programmes enable students to tailor their requirements for specific application within a wide variety of sectors such as banking, HR, civil service, retail.

The School is simultaneously growing research in these disciplines, and the launch of the new national research and innovation strategy “Impact 2030” which facilitates a greater amount of interdisciplinary research, is welcome for MPO’s interdisciplinary focus. Staff in the School have clear research profiles, with wide-ranging and high-ranking publications.

Our faculty engage with leading Irish and International organisations to ensure our programmes reflect the latest business thinking and trends and that our students have access to expert guest speakers, live case study challenges and international case competitions, company visits and valuable work placement opportunities.
